We are currently in Austin, Texas today! Not too much happening today besides heading to the airport and flying out.
Today we ate at Terry Black’s BBQ. The first of many BBQ places for our Texas run. Hopefully we won’t get sick of it by the end.

We actually ate twice here! My brother really wanted to get more of the pork ribs since we only had one piece. My guess is that it’s cooked “competition style”, such that the flavor ‘pops’ out at you. Really good!
I’d rate the meats we got as Beef Ribs > Pork Ribs > Sausage > Brisket. I wasn’t aware that beef ribs could be just as tender as beef brisket, yet still carry the lightly burnt flavor well with the meat. Pork ribs was a surprise hit for me as it was bursting with flavor. I didn’t think too much of the brisket – it’s nice but I don’t think it particularly stood out. I’d put the sausage above the brisket as I enjoyed that more, but not more than the pork ribs.
Mac and cheese is solid and cream corn has nice flavor to it – more than just the cream cheese that’s added to it or the cheesy corn I’ve made before – some spice is giving it an extra punch. Potato salad was OK – fine but nothing special.
I’d rate it as great! We are heading to Franklin’s ™ tomorrow to eat the king of briskets. Looking forward to it!

In-between the two meals we took a river boat to see the bats flying out of the bridge at night – It’s cute to see the flock fly out of the bridge but hard to capture on phone since the bats are quite small. Unforunately I did get hit by some guano but that is how the shit flies at night.
