Today we are all cleaned up and ready for maximum productivity! haha…

Mostly played a lot of mahjong today with results all over the board. I think just because I’m trying to win by placing in first doesn’t necessarily mean I should throw my hands up in the air and push everything. Still need to fold…

I didn’t do any of the work for work I pretended to hope I would do over the weekend. Tfw excited for league. Ready for angry e-mails when I check my laptop tomorrow :^)

In an attempt to reduce decision fatigue at night let’s stock the book display and whittle our way down as we go. Plus it looks nice when I walk into the room. I think I can add a few more of these next time I’m at Daiso.

Also, since I’m broke as fuck, let’s see if intentionally throwing away my throwing away my Twitter (formerly X) account passwords away will help block me from looking at it, since I certainly don’t need help spending money anymore! Whisp is having their まいてつ 10th Anniversary dakimakura sale! You get some bonuses for buying more than 1 daki (up to 4), but it’s not like I’ll actually put up the tapestries since I have no space. Maybe once I can get the house to myself hehe. Since I have two Hachiroku figures I figure I might as well get some dakis to match. If I ever play her game then I can hug my hachiroku dakis as I play the game. lol

Today we had our /mjg/ league team draft and had to listen to clown music for 2 hours. To be honest I was somewhat offput by how league ended for my team last year and initially didn’t want to sign up again, but hopefully this run will be more fun. Hope you like your team!

Update for the commuter/building pass/badge. We were previously using Sorasaki Hina and Ryuuge Kisaki cards for at least the last year. Maybe if I can find a horizontal badge holder I can use the Grim Aloe Bombergirl cards… but those might actually be pushing the upper limit since those are somewhat suggestive. haha

games he’ll never actually play

So since all of the r-18 steam games require you to install a patch, doing it on a Steam deck is a little bit more involved since you gotta manually put the file in yourself into the game directory, rather than running the .exe to patch that you would normally run.

Re-arranged some figgies to display. I used to pretend my room isn’t cluttered, but now it’s actually just shit all over the place. gg dude. I can update my room pictures tomorrow. hooray

Finished up Pragmata extra content tonight. After beating the game on hard, you get infinite ammo, and I was still struggling against the super last boss with it. Then I thought, wait, I’m not using the infinite ammo correctly… and abused the mine launcher to get the kill after dying may be about 8-12 times to it.

Luckily I don’t care for 100% achievements, so we’ll call it complete here! In the end I think it’s a fun game but very similar to Resident Evil 4 of straight corridors and encounters.

I got like 3 4ths today in Mahjong… but drafting the piece on losing made me take it a little better and I ended up playing another one after those 3 to reclaim a 1st for some points back. Hooray

I leave for vacation in about a week and still have a lot of open items for work… better get my ass in gear! ;_;

I was writing a piece on losing in mahjong… but now it’s getting late… so I will finish it… later! Turns out putting thoughts together and typing it out takes time. I think I need to flesh out some pieces too… let’s take some time to make sure it’s good instead of rushing it.

Today’s lunch was fish and chips! I enjoyed the batter of the fish being crispy yet the rockfish fillet inside being moist and flavorful. The malt vinegar helps add a sour accent to the items and the orange aioli serves as a good dip. Yummy but messy.

I also should seek out professional help, as I am hopelessly (not on the path of houou) glued to my phone checking the internet again! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I think I could argue that listening to this stuff is practicing for the N2 listening test. You have to practice listening to what they’re saying as they say it at the speed that someone would speak at. Though the later content looks a little more extreme… we’ll see. haha…

We had nachos catered for lunch at work today to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. It’s nice but we ran out of chips pretty fast. Maybe they could have provided some tortillas or something for tacos once the chips ran out. Unfortunately, I have no idea what Cinco de Mayo is celebrating.

There’s a cute dog on the train. I remember reading some person’s spiel about how we as people care more about people’s pets when they’re walking by in public, rather than about other people, even though other people have more intrinsically deeper lives than pets. But who the hell has all that energy to care about people they cross by in public? I don’t. That would be an incredible waste of energy.

But more importantly… today is こどもの日! and we’ll celebrate by listening to more of the voice work tonight! hooray

We have shu mai, some carrot mushroom roll thing, steak cubes, sea bass, and some dessert thing for lunch. My brother complains that the place is quite expensive, but each dish is indeed elevated compared to to other dim sum places. So you do get what you pay for! Notably they do not provide a bottle of soy sauce for you to pour out, so we had the shu mai as is and it is perfectly fine without. The roll thing has a good contrast in texture with the outer tofu wrap being gelatinous yet firm, steak cubes are nice and juicy and the sea bass is crispy on the outside yet moist in the inside.

Today’s lucky item from Costco is is conger eel jerky! It’s kind of like the dried squid you can find at chinese markets, but it has a sweet soy sauce flavor added to it. It costs 9 dollars which is perhaps a little expensive for 7 ounces but its JAPANESE so any price is ok. I’m a fan but probably wouldn’t make it a regular thing.

Spent most of the morning running through Pragmata on Lunatic and wiped a few times on the last boss.

A routine visit to California’s Great America to start the day. Luckily, ride ops are much faster than opening day this season two months ago in March. 5 minutes a dispatch is slow (but not worse than Fuji Q Highland’s, hehe), but 2-3 min is good enough.

I feel like this Detroit pizza has two contrasting sides to it, the soft pillowly breaded portion and the thicc crispy buttery crust. It’s like chinese cuisine, where you have two contrasting textures together in the same dish. It’s nice! I should learn how to describe and critique food, probably, could be a good skill to have… soon ™

and today’s grocery shopping. Since we have season ‘dining plans’ for Six Flags parks, we get a panda express meal to go from California’s Great America. Luckily, I won’t ever get bored of orange chicken. mmm chinese fast food slop

Came back and finished up the last boss. I opted for a tanky/defensive build so I can make lots of errors and outlast the boss, rather than trying to blow it up with big damage. I think the ‘perfect dodge’ window is probably a little too big in this game, but it’s just a single player game. if i want self e-fame i can go back to dark souls 3 or something. or go back to elden ring and finish malenia and its dlc, which i won’t.

uhh I did my laundry and lost in mahjong and played pragmata! lunatic difficulty isn’t too much harder though the bosses become a little meat spongy.
