They released a tankoubon for the first two books in the series last year to promote the anime… but the series isn’t even over yet, so now they have to release a 2nd tankoubon fully compiling the series once it’s done. Good job idiots

Shigure finally arrived! It’s almost been a year since I ordered this through Kappa-Hobby. Don’t order from them since they ship by boat… I had to do it at the time since Amiami banned my account and I lost all my pre-orders, and now I could have just bought it from Amiami for less than retail. ;_;

I figured I need further demoralization so it’s time to get my ass kicked at that the parlor. Let’s do our best

Well I got owned again 0/1/1/2. First three games had someone run away with big tsumos, the last I ended up feeding 1st trying to push for 1st myself. I’m also way more willing to fold IRL vs when I play online, maybe I have a little more respect for people if they’re in front of me vs some cute anime girl avatar online. Though that doesn’t apply to playing on 天鳳, technically…? I’ll get a 1st soon…

I drew from the wrong wall twice and need to stop tossing sticks on the table and place them gently on the table. Also, there’s a few people who sigh and groan every few discards. I like to pretend I have myself together when I’m deep in 4th :^)

I do think about if paying money to lose in person is worth it when I can lose for free online, but I think the experience and practice is worth it. After all, not everyone in the world can pull up to an autotable with three other jongers, so I should be thankful and take advantage!

I have like this weird curiosity where I wonder if MだSたろうwould still be popular if he would be popular today if he didn’t start off drawing Black Rock Shooter doujins. On the other hand, that was an obscure series to draw doujins to begin with, so perhaps one could say he was successful in spite of that?

Maybe about 1.5 months ago I found a flock of wild turkeys while taking a walk. I wonder if it’s the same bunch. hobo ass motherfuckers

Americans eat them for ceremonial purposes during Thanksgiving, but they are an uncommon meat choice in some places. I think their white meat is a little bland and dry, but I suppose that’s true for all white meat. I think the theory my brother and I subscribe to is some lore from Yakitate Japan where Asian folks produce less saliva than white folks, so their preference is to have their food be slightly more moist than other culture’s food. You’ll see this most with Asian bakeries that tend to have really moist breads, compared to something like say, French baguettes that are literal cardboard. Apparently people just raw dog pick apart a baguette and eat it, which is an insane idea to me.

I did some work today “at home” but not too much. I cleaned up my room and did the laundry. I should organize my doujins and onaholes tomorrow. Maybe even catalog my dakimakuras, but that could be an onerous task…

Did have this game earlier today where I absolutely toasted everyone, but about after the point where I crossed ~50k points it didn’t seem fun or interesting at that point. It felt like… it’s too good to be true or I’m just lucky at this point, so it doesn’t seem real. Where’s the struggle? the bitching and moaning when I deal in post riichi? This isn’t what mahjong is supposed to be about… It’s about pain and suffering. Maybe I’m actually a masochist or something.

Well, the saying goes, you don’t know how good you have it until you don’t have it anymore. Perhaps this is true for 4th place streaks in Mahjong! Maybe I should learn to be grateful for the opportunity to play (which actually means being grateful for the chance to finish in 4th. haha what a joke).

Some black folk shoved me on the train this morning but I didn’t care enough to fight back cause I was working on my anki cards to think about it. I figured it’s not worth getting shanked over something trivial since I objectively know my life is better/more important than his. But is that projecting my insecurities if I have to pretend I’m better than him to convince myself conflict isn’t worth it? I went on with my day and didn’t think too much of it, but it came up again since I thought about the day’s events.

We had a happy hour out after work. I didn’t really talk though and just had some food and drink and left. Though my team already knows I’m kinda quiet and perhaps a little autistic… maybe I’m a loser for not wanting to socialize? By who? Been a little down in tile game since my 4th rate is so high. Idk not much else to say besides the fact that I didn’t really wanna work today, so I got to practice the inventory concept of LIFO today at work! It means Last In First Out… so when you sell an item or unit, you use the most recently added unit as your cost of goods sold. In this case… it means I’m the last one in and the first one out! Some of the higher ups in the office have been egging me on to pursue a Master’s in Taxation. There are some benefits in doing so for my career, but I’m probably overestimating a little bit… but if I can do it, why not? Especially since that would also be on the company dime I kinda wanna… but if I can’t handle myself with just the job alone, how am I gonna do school and work at the same time? So I’m thinking if I can prove to myself I can behave from now through June I’ll try going for it…

I missed the bus home today, so I walked 3.5 miles from the station home in the rain. Hooray

I woke up early and got absolutely btfo’d on Riichi Shitty and upset and went back to sleep. Game is shit, I should give it up!

I finally got my first day of 0 hours worked! I spent most of the day on just playing Pragmata. I’m nearing the end of the first run and we’ll see if the end-game stuff is any good. I can’t seem to play too much at a single time… maybe my attention span is bad.

Gave blood today. Their water dispenser was out of water but luckily I don’t have an aversion to drinking tap water.

Finally found these bad boys at Costco and picked up 4 jars. It’s like crack in a jar. I first ate them while watching an F1 race maybe 2 or so years ago… so I associate them with fast cars in my mind somehow. Surprisingly, my father hates olives of all sorts, so I guess I didn’t pick up the olive hating genes.

I should learn to not turn on my pc or look at my phone first thing I wake up in the morning. Well, first thing we can fail at tomorrow. Let’s fucking goooooooooooooooooo

This morning I played some autotable and got 2 1sts! Then I thought that was cool. Let’s go to the local mahjong club and shake off the rust! It’s been probably at least two years since I played there… and I got cooked 0/1/2/2. lol. Need to work on a few things like maintaining consistent discards in riichi/damaten to not give tells off. I had good dama mangans but missed a few of them… Maybe if I called riichi I could get others to stop making big hands? I did deal in to two big ones (one post riichi and one where I ran out of safe tiles) so I have a lot of improvements ot make aon all fronts. Hooray

Today we ate at Fogo de Chao! They had $100.00 gift cards for $80.00 at Costco, so I picked up one… then I realized I’d need two sets for a dinner. I had purchased the cards back in February to eat after tax season was finished, but I was tempted to try to go during March and my brother called me out on it… so now we get to redeem it. It’s good but I would rank Galpao Gaucho and then Espetus over Fogo de chao. It’s a safer option… but I love the charcoal flavor that seeps into the meat at Espetus!

Here’s today’s purchases. A Yeti tumbler to replace my decade old Hydro Flask, and some… interesting chips from the Japanese supermarket. It looks like they’re made in Malaysia though… but I’m intrigued.

Making my way a little bit further into Pragmata… but we should also get back on track for exercise and nip reps too. Soon(tm)

I saw a few people were talking about the game and Diana looks cute so I gave it a shot! I’m about 2 hours in and the shooting portion feels a little bit slow, so you’re forced to spend more time focusing on puzzles and movement within the game instead of just gunning everything down the moment you see it. I can see it getting quite frantic a bit later. I like it!

I was able to snag a preorder for AliceGlint’s 1/3.5 Nene Ayachi last week on Amiami… maybe it wasn’t such a good idea…

To celebrate freedom I have went through my unread doujins and picked out a stack on the basis “would I be sad if I died without reading this”. I liked the build-up of tension to set the scene! I did spend a good 20 minutes at C107 picking up their 総集編 from their booth, only to find a huge stack of it at Melonbooks immediately after the event. Tragic… but expected I suppose given their popularity.

OK it’s time to go touch steel
