I think the idea is you were trying to fish for chanta sanshoku 2000 – I think I would have preferred to cut 8p and tanki 7p. since our hand isn’t high value we can focus on being ‘more safe’ with our discards since 1z does risk the wait of hell tanki (not that he’d pick hell tanki riichi with 2 8p visible on turn 7… right?)
can we sakigiri 3p here and just go straight to 25m69s 1shanten?
you can go headless if you pick up 2p i think and keep 1z as safe tile. picking up 14p i guess makes it wider…… eh
talked about it already but we can do 222s instead since you already ripped apart the 87s and you can’t see any dora and you have to pass haku to win this hand (or get another yourself)
just tanyao this and cut 11s. killed our 67p acceptance by chucking 8p and we have a good amount of pairs already

i would fold this since we really cannot afford a direct dealin against him for playing for 2nd and all the tiles we need to pass are risky (1m, 5m, 6p) to get to tenpai and we have 3 safe tiles to start (789s). we still have our dealer turn to make up ground if he wins so let’s defend
good call to push! the point gain in getting 2nd (20 + hand win) or even 1st on tsumo (60 + hand win) far outweighs the -8 or -12 we would lose from directly dealing in to kamicha mangan/haneman.
