I thought I could get tan yao and try to force the hand here but I cut 3s after instead of 8p. If I want to attack here I have to drop the excess pinzu NOW instead of toimen advancing after. If I think he’s tenpai then I can’t cut ANY pinzu at this point, so it has to be NOW and not LATER

I think I’m trying to fold against toimen… but 6m is also nakasuji 39m so perhaps that is better than 5s genbutsu which is NOT genbutsu to shimocha?
